| | Research Statement | | Professor R.P. Dahiya is Director, Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur and also holds the position of Professor at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He has excellent academic record. With 35 years of experience in academic institutions, Dr. Dahiya has wide research interests and has made significant contribution to research and development in Industrial Applications of Plasma, MHD Power Generation, Dusty Plasma, Energy and Environment, Air and Water Pollution, Global Warming, Solid Waste Management, Instrumentation, Vacuum Technology etc. Over the years he has supervised 14 Ph.D. scholars and many theses of M.Tech. students in the country and abroad. He has more than 150 research papers and one book to his credit.

Dr. Dahiya has made contribution in various capacities at National, Institute and International level from time to time. Prominent among them are: Member, National Group to prepare a report for OBC reservations in admissions for the Govt. of India funded Technology and Engineering organizations; Member, National Committee for Higher Technical Education for the Eleventh Five Year Plan; Chairman AICTE-Infosys Track for developing Finishing Schools in Engineering Institutes; Co-ordinator, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Committee to work out Ph.D. Fellowship Programme for National Institutes of Technology; Member, AICTE Committee for Technical Education Curriculum; Member, several committees of Rajasthan State relevant to Higher Technical Education; Chairman/Member, several high powered committees of UGC/AICTE.
During the past one year as Director, Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, Prof. R.P. Dahiya has made significant contribution to higher education and also established Industry-Institute collaborations; prominent among them are with Infosys, Intel and HUDCO. In the MOU with Infosys besides MNIT the Govt. of Rajasthan is also collaborating.
He has been Vice Chancellor of CDL University, Sirsa; President, Plasma Science Society of India; Chairman G.A.T.E., IIT Delhi; Chairman/Member various International, National and Institute Bodies/Committees; National Co-ordinator of Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of India sponsored National Renewable Energy Fellowships; and member of several other committees. He has also worked in the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, now the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India.
Professor Dahiya had also developed an Integrated Energy Technology Centre at a rural site making use of the local renewable energy resources; the energy systems being community size biogas plant, biomass gasifier, green house, improved cook stove, solar thermal and photovoltaic devices.

| | International Level | | On International level he has wide experience of working in Germany, Netherlands, USA, Japan, and visited several countries such as France, U.K., China, Brazil etc. In Netherlands (where he has been more than 12 times), Germany (twice) and Japan he has made significant contribution to the establishment of prestigious International experimental facilities for industrial applications of plasma. He has received funding worth several crore rupees for his sponsored and consultancy projects from the International sponsors, National funding agencies and some prominent industries.

| | Honours | Professor Dahiya is honoured with Distinguished Alumini Award of Kurukshetra University and received many prestigious International and National fellowships such as INSA-JSPS Japan fellowship, DAAD German fellowship, Netherlands fellowships, CSIR fellowship, Haryana Government Merit Scholarship, National Scholarship and others.
